Fly methods
Squires Lake is the small catch and release lake at Manningford Trout Fishery near Pewsey in Wiltshire: about 1.3 acres, set in the woodland of Squires Copse and fed from the Hampshire Avon. It holds brown and rainbow trout stocked from around 3 lb upwards.
Everything caught here goes back, which makes it a quieter, more intimate water than Manor Lake next door, where fish are kept. Fly only, single hook no bigger than a size 8, and a 6 lb minimum leader.
Squires is fished on the same ticket as Manor Lake, priced by the number of fish you keep from Manor, from £43 for two fish up to £67 for six.
