Coln at Dudgrove is one of the Cotswold Flyfishers’ stretches of the River Coln, on the lower river below Fairford. The club calls the Coln the best known of the Cotswold trout streams, and fishes seven stretches of it, several of which have to be booked. The water is usually clear enough to stalk individual fish, with early hatches of large dark olives and grannom, a good mayfly, and blue-winged olives and pale wateries in summer. Some of the club’s Coln fisheries are topped up with stocked trout, but all of them hold wild trout of a good size and some grayling.

Cotswold Flyfishers water is for members only. The club does not issue day tickets or temporary memberships, and full membership was £660 for the 2026 season plus a non-returnable £187 registration fee. All the club’s wild trout waters are fished catch and release with barbless hooks. If you are thinking of joining, the club’s endorsed guides run taster days on some of its waters.
