About Richmond & District Angling Society
Richmond and District Angling Society, known as RADAS, looks after more than twelve miles of the River Swale in and around Richmond, North Yorkshire, and two fishing lakes that members fish. The river holds wild brown trout and grayling, with chub, dace, barbel and pike below Richmond Falls.
Visitors can buy a day permit online for £12.50 and pick their date. It covers a list of beats from Great Langton up to Marske Bridge, and the club keeps its upper trout water and the D’Arcy Hildyard beat for members. Membership is open to new anglers: a winter special running from 1 October 2026 to 14 March 2027 costs £30 with no joining fee, and junior membership up to 17 is £10.
Every fish is returned to the river. The club is run by volunteers, and the secretary takes questions by phone or text.
How fishing here works
