Brompton on Swale is a short stretch of Richmond and District Angling Society water on the River Swale, about 0.7 miles in length and fished for game and coarse fish. On the north bank the fishing runs downstream from Bailey Bridge to Skeeby Beck, and on the south bank from Bailey Bridge down to Brompton Scar.

For the north bank there is free parking in the Brompton on Swale lay-by and on the grass verge by the gate at Bailey Bridge lane. For the south bank, park by the fence as signed at St Giles Farm, off the A6136 Catterick Garrison road. The society’s Broken Brae and Catterick Bridge waters are also on the day permit.

Trout fishing runs from 25 March to 30 September, and coarse fish and grayling from 16 June to 14 March, with the river closed from 15 to 24 March. All fish are returned, and a day permit is bought online from the society.
