The Falls and The Batts is a short stretch of the River Swale right in Richmond, fished for both game and coarse fish. The north bank runs about 870 metres, roughly half a mile, from the Green Bridge down Riverside Road to Richmond Falls and then along the Batts to Mercury Bridge.

Below the Falls the club’s water holds chub, dace, barbel and pike as well as wild trout and grayling. There is no fishing within 50 metres upstream or downstream of the Falls from 31 August to 24 March. Trout fishing runs from 25 March to 30 September, and coarse fish and grayling from 16 June to 14 March, with the whole river closed from 15 to 24 March.

All fish are returned. A day permit from Richmond and District Angling Society covers this beat, and an Environment Agency rod licence is needed on top.
