About Spring Hill Trout Waters

Spring Hill Trout Waters is a small fly fishery in Brenchley Wood, near Matfield and Pembury in Kent. It has three clear, spring fed waters stocked with rainbow and brown trout. The main lake holds both, and the Spring Pond and Brown Pond hold brown trout only.

It has been run by Lee Green and his partner Jane since 2001. The fishery is open from 8am until dark every day of the year, except Christmas Day, Boxing Day, 27 December and New Year’s Day, and you must book first by phone. There is a lodge, a toilet, terminal tackle for sale and rod hire. Tea, coffee and cans of drink are sold, and you can bring your own food. Dogs are not allowed.

Tickets for 2026 are £37 for two fish with a 5 hour limit, £54 for four fish and £60 for a day taking four fish and releasing four more. Tuition is available from the owner and from visiting qualified instructors, and the fishery holds a competition each November.
