Fishing methods
Glasshouses Bridge to Twine Mill Weir is one of Nidderdale Angling Club’s longer beats, running from the bridge at Glasshouses, below Wilsill and past Monkey Island and Jogglyn Bridge, down to Twine Mill weir.
A footpath follows the river, with several sets of steps down to the water along the way, and there is parking at both the top and the bottom of the beat.
This is not one of the club’s day-ticket stretches, so it is fished by members and season-ticket holders. Membership is for anglers who live locally, and anglers from further away can apply for a season ticket; the committee decides both. Like all the club’s water, it is catch and release.
