About Gwent Angling Society

Gwent Angling Society is a local society with waters in and around south east Wales, with wild brown trout, grayling, sea trout and salmon. Its pages list the Usk, Wye, Monnow, Sirhowy and Afon Llynfi, and call the Sirhowy and Llynfi the intimate waters and the Usk, Wye and Monnow their bigger cousins. On the Usk it says it has six beats and almost six miles of fishing, running from Sennybridge and Crickhowell down through Gilwern and Abergavenny to Chainbridge. It describes the beats near Gilwern and Abergavenny as first class trout water, with the best of the salmon fishing on the lower and middle river near Chainbridge. Its pages do not give beat limits, so none are listed here.
