About Bishop Auckland & District Angling Club
Bishop Auckland and District Angling Club was established in 1936 and holds more than 17 miles of the River Wear around Bishop Auckland, with more than 45 named pools. The water is split into four beats and the Town Water, and holds salmon, sea trout, brown trout and grayling.
Adult membership is £160 a year, or £190 for anyone joining after 31 March, and junior membership (under 18) is free subject to the club’s conditions. Membership is bought online through the club’s Clubmate page. Full adult members can bring a guest on a guest ticket, limited to two a season.
Visitors can buy a non-member salmon and sea trout day ticket on Clubmate for £35. It covers all of the club’s waters and is valid for 24 hours from 6am. You need an Environment Agency rod licence. All trout and grayling are returned, the bag limit is two migratory fish a day, and there is no spinning from 1 November to 30 April.
