About Bollington and Royal Oak Angling Society
Bollington and Royal Oak Angling Society is a small, friendly angling club in the village of Bollington in Cheshire. Most of its water is natural pools holding mainly roach, bream, tench, perch, pike, carp and gudgeon, which this page does not describe. It also has a short stretch of the River Dean, which has brown trout to around 2lb and the odd coarse fish.
The trout season on the Dean is 15 March to 30 September and all trout are returned to the water. Membership is capped at 75 and runs for 12 months from 1 April to 31 March. The society says it is at capacity for the 2026 to 2027 season, that renewals take priority over new requests, and that anyone who wants to be added to the waiting list for next season should contact it.
