About Llynfi Valley Angling Association
Llynfi Valley Angling Association was established in 1954 and is part of the community in Maesteg. It fishes the River Llynfi, one of the three main tributaries of the River Ogmore, which runs for around ten miles from its source north of Maesteg down the Llynfi Valley to the confluence with the Ogmore and the Garw at Aberkenfig. The club says roughly ten miles of river are available to fish, from the bank or by wading, and it arranges an annual restocking of the river.
The 2026 season runs from 3 March to 30 September, with spinning allowed only from 1 July. Annual membership is £50 for seniors aged 17 and over, £30 for over 65s who have held a senior membership for a year, and £5 for juniors aged 16 and under. Day passes are also sold through the club’s Clubmate page, take effect the following day, and need a rod licence. Detailed maps and designated parking are shown to members in the Clubmate app. The club also arranges free learn to fish outings with committee members.
