About Boxmoor Trout Fishery
Boxmoor Trout Fishery is a members’ fly fishing lake of about three acres at Boxmoor, Hemel Hempstead. The lake is spring fed from artesian wells that once supplied watercress beds, and it is run by volunteers for its members and shareholders. It is stocked with rainbow trout every few weeks except in May, June, July and August, and it also holds resident brown trout, which are returned.
Fishing is fly only with one fly on a single barbless hook, and the lake is closed on Mondays except bank holidays. Day tickets are not available. Members can bring guests, who pay for a 5 fish ticket (£50) or a 2 fish ticket (£30), and the club offers a full season ticket and a half season ticket from 1 September. Membership is limited, and a tour of the lake can be arranged by appointment with the membership secretary.
