About Nottingham Fly Fishers’ Club
Nottingham Fly Fishers’ Club is an established club with records of subscriptions going back to 1913, and it is solely for people who fish with the fly. It fishes Gibsmere Lake, about 14 acres between Bleasby and the River Trent in the Newark area.
The lake is stocked six times in the season with rainbow, blue and brown trout, and the season normally runs from 1 March to the end of November, weather permitting. The fishing is managed by a committee of members. The club restricts its numbers so the water is not crowded, and anglers book in at the lodge so everyone can see who else is fishing. To join, contact the Membership Secretary through the club’s website for the current subscription, the length of any waiting list and an application form.
