About Suffolk Fly Fishers Club
Suffolk Fly Fishers Club is a members’ fly fishing club with a private 30 acre trout lake between Ipswich and Felixstowe. The lake is open 365 days a year from dawn to sunset, with bank fishing from purpose built stages, boat fishing, a club lodge and about 11 acres of meadow bankside and woodland. The club has over 120 members and says its numbers are strictly limited.
It is a members only fishery and there are no day tickets. Members may bring a guest for £25 a day. The club stocks fully finned rainbow trout of 2lb or more, and occasionally brown trout, which are released. For the 2025/26 season the membership fee is £460, with a one-off joining fee of £100 and scaled charges for new members by joining month. The fishing year starts on 1 April.
Newcomers can have a free trial day before deciding to join: a member meets you at the water, lends tackle if you need it, and lets you fish and keep a trout. The club teaches casting and fly tying and does not charge for instruction.
