About Loynton Lakes
Loynton Trout Fisheries has three spring fed lakes on the Loynton Estate near Norbury in Staffordshire, twelve acres in all. They are stocked with rainbow, blue and brown trout, and the fishery says you can fish for trout into double figures. The fishery gives no breakdown of the three lakes, so they are listed together.
Tickets are £30 for catch and release, or £35, £40 and £45 for 1, 2 or 3 fish. You kill the first fish your ticket allows and can then carry on with catch and release for the rest of the day, recording each kill on your ticket and putting the ticket in the catch return box in the fishing lodge. Brown trout must always be returned. The fishery is open seven days a week, all year, from 8am, with no booking needed.
Fishing is fly only with barbless or de-barbed hooks, a maximum of two flies and a single hook no longer than two inches. Boobies, snakes, wagglers and pellet flies are banned, and so is the drop back bung and its rig. You may have two rods at the lakes but only one in use at a time. Nets must be carried and there is no wading.
