About Caersws Angling Association
Caersws Angling Association fishes in mid Wales and describes its fishing as predominantly game. It controls about seven miles of double bank fishing on the upper River Severn, and two tributaries, the Carno Brook and the Afon Trannon, which it describes as wilderness brook fly fishing. The Severn holds trout, grayling and salmon. Most of the association’s water is fly only, with spinning and worm allowed on the water downstream of Caersws village, and grayling are returned under an association rule.
Season or day tickets are available. For 2026 to 2027 a day ticket is £22, and annual membership is £160, with £110 for concessions and £25 for juniors over 12 and under 16. Day tickets are sold at the Premier Store and CostCutter’s Garage in Caersws. Season tickets are only available from the membership secretary: you buy a day ticket and fish, then send the application form from the association’s website to the secretary with the used day ticket, the subscription less the day ticket price, a stamped addressed envelope and a cheque. Only one day ticket discount is allowed per application, and it must be for the current season. Season tickets run from 1 April to 31 March the following year.
