About Godalming Angling Society
Godalming Angling Society owns or holds the fishing rights on about eight miles of the River Wey, from Eashing at the A3 crossing down through Godalming to just south of Guildford. Most of that water is coarse fishing, and the society also has coarse lakes, which this page does not describe. Its trout fishing is on the River Wey, where trout are fished with the fly only, and on Rowes Flashe at Winkworth Arboretum, fished by the society’s Winkworth Fly Fishers section.
The society says there is no waiting list. New members can join at any time up to the end of March, and the membership year runs from 1 July to 30 June. Membership is bought online through Clubmate. For 2026 to 2027 a senior single membership is £160, a senior joint membership £200, and there is a £75 fee for new members, with concessions from £25 for juniors. Winkworth Fly Fishers, set up in 1981, is a small trout section with its own application form and rules, which the society sends on request.
