About Ravensnest Pools
Ravensnest has two pools in a 7 acre wooded site on the Wye Valley side of Tintern. The fishery stocks rainbow trout and tiger trout regularly, and says it also has a good number of wild brown trout. The pools are described as well oxygenated, and the water fishes as a small woodland stillwater.
Fishing is fly only. Spinners, bite indicators and barbed hooks are not allowed. A catch and release day ticket is £30 for an adult and £15 for under 16s, and a fish you take home is £8 each. Evening tickets run from 17:00 until close in June, July and August. Rods can be hired for £15 with a £25 refundable deposit, and one-hour lessons are available for up to two people.
The fishery opens daily, 9am to 7pm from May to September and 9am to 4pm from October to April. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult at all times, and an adult with a child does not need a ticket unless they fish. There is free parking close to the pools. The site is not suitable for anyone with limited mobility. Book on the fishery’s website.
