About Toft House Fishery
Toft House Fishery is 500 metres of wild brown trout and grayling fishing on the Eggles Burn, on the north bank. The Passport calls it an incredible little wild stream full of character, a good place for a few hours, and mostly heavily tree lined. It describes very challenging fly water with pocket water and small pools that have probably never seen a fly.
Wading is of average difficulty, a wading staff is advisable and care is needed near the steep banks. The Eggles Burn can rise fast, so check the online river levels and the weather before you go. Its go to methods are single upstream spiders, nymphs and dry fly, on a rod of 6ft 6in or 7ft 6in rated 2 or 3.
All species are catch and release, dogs are not allowed and the beat has a wash-off policy. One ticket is sold a day. The trout day ticket costs £5 and the winter grayling day ticket £5. It is booked through the Fishing Passport.
