About Llanrwst Anglers Club
Llanrwst Anglers Club was formed in 1933 and fishes the lower River Conwy at Llanrwst, just above the upstream tidal limit, for sea trout, salmon and some wild brown trout. Its town waters are double bank fishing for about two miles, and the club has three smaller sections downstream and upstream of the town. It also has Llyn Bodgynydd, an upland lake in the Gwydir Forest above Trefriw with wild brown trout.
Visitors can buy day tickets online through ClubMate. A day ticket for 2026 is £30 for adults aged 17 and over and covers the club’s waters apart from the Conwy below the town bridge down to Gowers footbridge, and a day ticket for Llyn Bodgynydd is £15 for anglers aged 10 and over. The club also issues weekly tickets and gives no price for them. No day or weekly tickets are sold from 1 September, and the rest of the season is for members only. All salmon, and all salmon and sea trout taken on day and weekly tickets, must be returned.
Permanent membership is for people living within two miles of the clock tower in Llanrwst, which takes in Trefriw, Llanddoged and Melin y Coed: £50 for an adult, £30 for an OAP and free for juniors aged 10 to 16 (£10 for 13 to 16). A limited number of temporary memberships are sold to anglers who live outside that boundary, at £130 for an adult and £20 for a junior. Membership runs from 1 March and is bought through ClubMate. A Natural Resources Wales rod licence is needed.
