About Panshanger Anglers
Panshanger Anglers is a small fly fishing club in Panshanger Park, a registered historic park of about 400 hectares on the edge of Hertford. It fishes three spring fed lakes, Riverside, Osprey and Kings, and about half a mile of the River Mimram, a chalk stream with wild brown trout and grayling. Riverside and Osprey are stocked with rainbow and brown trout, and Kings Lake is no longer stocked.
The club describes Panshanger as a club fishery rather than a day ticket water, with limited membership to keep the banks uncrowded. Anyone who wants to join completes the application form on its website, which puts them on the waiting list, and the club secretary makes contact when a place becomes available. No payment is taken at that stage. Brown trout in the lakes, and brown trout and grayling from the Mimram, must be returned alive.
