About Osprey Lake, Panshanger Park
Osprey Lake is the largest of the three lakes Panshanger Anglers fish, at about 15 acres. It lies within a nature reserve in Panshanger Park, and the club stocks it with rainbow and brown trout. Fishing is allowed along the whole of the western bank and roughly half of the northern and southern banks, and there is a platform on the southern bank. The club describes it as open and windswept, and says it rewards anglers who stay mobile and read the wind and light.
Brown trout caught here must be returned alive. The number of rainbow trout that may be taken is set out in the club rule book. Part of the lake lies in a protected nature reserve, and the club asks for particular care there. The water is for members of Panshanger Anglers only, and the club takes new members from a waiting list. The position shown is approximate and marks Panshanger Park, not the lake itself.
