About Causeway Fly Fishers Lake
The Causeway Fly Fishers lake is a four acre private trout lake in north west Essex, near Saffron Walden. The club describes the water as clear and of excellent quality, up to 18 feet deep, with weed kept to a minimum and well maintained grass banks. A row boat for members is moored by the jetty, and a small hut holds buoyancy aids and other equipment.
The lake holds rainbow, blue, brown and tiger trout and Spartic trout, stocked as required with fish of around two to three pounds, and the club says fish of five pounds and more are not unusual. Fishing is fly only and open all year except Christmas Day. This is members’ water: the club has a maximum of 35 members and occasionally has vacancies. The position shown is approximate and only roughly places the lake.
