About Bentley Brook, Leek and District Fly Fishing Association
Bentley Brook is a small stream in Derbyshire, and Leek and District Fly Fishing Association fishes about a mile or so of it, double bank, through the Tissington Estate. The association gives no start and end points, so the position shown is approximate.
The association describes it as a small, high quality stream with wild brown trout and grayling, and says it does not stock the brook. It supports many insect species, with good hatches through the year and well known mayfly hatches. The fish are alert and wary, so the fishing is difficult but rewarding and depends on stealth and casting ability, and wading helps in some sections. Water voles live in the brook, so habitat protection is a high priority and anglers must take care.
This is members’ water, with a waiting list and no day tickets.
