About River Cammarch
The Cammarch fishing is one large beat, some three and three quarter miles long, with two starting points. The upper reaches are classic upland stream, fast flowing over rock and gravel, while below Beulah the river is for the most part relatively slow and meandering. The Passport promises feisty wild brownies that give a good tussle on light fly gear. Wading is necessary for most of the beat and varies in difficulty. The Passport suggests a rod of 7 to 8 feet rated 2 to 4 weight.
It is fly fishing only, two trout can be taken per rod and anything under nine inches must be returned (byelaw), and dogs are not allowed. Waders, nets and tackle must be sprayed with Virkon before and after fishing. It is a Wild Stream beat: it is booked through the Fishing Passport, or fished on a Wild Stream Season Permit.
