About The Clywedog
The Clywedog rises in the heart of the Radnor Forest and joins the Ithon at Crossgates. The Passport calls it a discreet stream that was one of the first tributaries to be restored by the Wye and Usk Foundation, and says it offers some fast improving trout fishing. It is a small river with 1¼ miles of fishing available, and it is lightly fished. The Passport suggests a rod of 6½ to 8 feet rated 2 to 4 weight.
It is fly fishing only, two trout can be taken per rod and anything under nine inches must be returned (byelaw), and dogs are not allowed. It is a Wild Stream beat: it is booked through the Fishing Passport, or fished on a Wild Stream Season Permit.
