About Westlow Mere

Westlow Mere is a year round fly fishery on Giantswood Lane, Congleton, run by Congleton and District Fly Fishers Ltd. The club was founded in the early eighties to make fly fishing for trout open to anyone who wanted to try it, and its volunteers run the fishery, with the day ticket money paying for monthly stocking and the upkeep of the site. The main lake, the Deeps, holds triploid rainbows, blues and browns, and a smaller lake is stocked with mirror and common carp.
