About the River Duhonw
The River Duhonw is a small tributary that runs into the Wye close to Builth Wells. The community of Duhonw lies beside it, between the Irfon to the north and Mynydd Epynt to the south. It is an attractive trout stream with a number of key pools, separated by long shallow riffles. The pools hold trout of over a pound, although the average fish in the Duhonw is more like 6 to 8 ounces. The last 500 yards above the road bridge runs through a steep sided gorge, where wading is much harder.
The fishing is with the fly.
