About Leigh Mill Lake
Leigh Mill Lake is a lake of about three acres near Godstone in Surrey, fed by the Gibbs Brook and by spring water from the surrounding hills. It is the water of Leigh Mill Fishing, a private members’ fly fishing club, and is regularly stocked with rainbow and brown trout from a hatchery at Duncton Mill in Sussex. The club says most of the trout weigh from 1 to 8lb, and that wild perch live in the lake too.
The club lists 14 casting platforms and bank spaces around the lake, and a cottage with a kitchen, a flushing WC and a shower. Fishing is fly only, and the club says there are no day tickets, no carp fishing and no night fishing. Regular fishing is for members, who join from a waiting list. Beginners and visitors can book tuition and experience days in advance, separate from membership. The position shown is approximate.
