About River Bran, Llandovery
Llandovery Angling Association offers wild brown trout fishing on the River Bran at Llandovery. It describes the Bran and the Gwydderig as spate streams where even a small rise in level can tempt the resident trout out to feed, and where light tackle is the order of the day. The banks mix tree cover, where a small spinner flicked under the overhanging branches works best, with open areas ideal for stalking with a short fly rod and light line.
The association publishes a Google map showing the beat limits, entry points and parking for these streams but does not describe where the water starts and ends in words, so the position shown is approximate. The fishing is included with its daily, weekly and season permits. Dipping a drop minnow is not allowed on either stream.
