About Upper Lliedi Reservoir
Upper Lliedi Reservoir is a 32 acre reservoir on the outskirts of Llanelli, fished by Llanelli Angling Association, which says it is the largest water in Carmarthenshire where fly fishing is practised. The club calls it Swiss Valley and Top Res. Rainbow trout are the species stocked.
Fishing is fly only, from the bank, with traditional equipment, one rod, barbless hooks and no booby flies. The club allows wading to thigh depth, but not from the dam. It is open daily from 6am to one hour after sunset through the season. A rainbow under 9 inches may not be taken. Members can book the club’s two boats, while day tickets are for the bank.
Day tickets are sold online from 1 April 2026: £25 for an adult with a two fish limit, £32 for an adult and one junior and £42 for an adult and two juniors. Day ticket holders cannot drive in. The club says most of the shore is not suited to wheelchairs, though one area is fully suitable. The position shown is approximate.
