About the River Dulas Brook (Llynfi)
Dulas Brook is a small tributary of the River Llynfi in Powys. It joins the Llynfi from the north, on its left bank just above Bronllys Castle Bridge, close to Talgarth. Dulas is a common stream name in mid Wales, which is why anglers often call this one the Llynfi Dulas.
It is a small stream, and the deeper stretches are best fished in chest waders. The Wye and Usk Foundation says the brook and the Llynfi hold one of the highest densities of trout of the Wye tributaries, with plenty of fish over a pound and a strong mayfly hatch. Like the Llynfi, it runs red when in flood. The fishing is with the fly.
