About Lower Dove and Churnet, Leek and District Fly Fishing Association
This is about a mile of water in two parts that form a large V either side of grazing land: roughly a quarter of a mile of the River Dove, right bank only, and about three quarters of a mile of the River Churnet upstream from the confluence to a hedge across a field, which marks the top boundary. The Dove section is between Rocester and Uttoxeter, and the association does not give more precise points, so the position shown is approximate.
The association describes the Dove section as riffles and deep pools in prime fishing country, with another club on the opposite bank and the Norbury Angling Club upstream. The page names no fish species for this water.
This is members’ water, with a waiting list and no day tickets. The only rule the page gives is a trial that allows trotting with maggot or sweetcorn on the Churnet section only, from 1 November to 14 March inclusive.
