About Llyn Aled Uchaf
Llyn Aled Uchaf is a Welsh Water moorland reservoir above Llansannan, stocked weekly from March to September with trout and fished by spinning, worm or fly. The terms allow artificial fly, spinning and a single natural worm, with treble hooks only for spinning. Rainbow trout of 12 inches or more may be kept and brown trout go back.
A full day permit for 2026 is £23, with up to six fish, a concession is £22 and a junior full day is £10.50 for three fish. From 5 October 2026 a winter day is £16 for three fish. The £425 season ticket for Llyn Brenig and Llyn Aled Uchaf covers it too. Permits come from the Llyn Brenig visitor centre or online, and are not valid on the neighbouring Llyn Aled Isaf, which has its own ticket.
Ground bait, swim feeders, sweetcorn and maggots are not allowed. Only one rod may be assembled. Every angler hands in a catch return after each visit. The position shown is approximate.
