About Llyn Conlog

Llyn Conlog covers 18 acres at about 2,000 feet, not far from the summit of Allt Fawr, and the association calls it the largest of the Welsh lakes lying over 2,000 feet. It is about two hours’ walk from Tan y Grisiau. The severe frost of 1947 is believed to have killed all the fish, and the lake was stocked with fry through the 1990s. The association now describes an excellent fishery, with wild brown trout over 1lb regularly caught and fish up to about 4lb landed every season, on spinner or fly.
