About Dolgarrog Fishing Club, Llyn Eigiau

Llyn Eigiau is a lake on the edge of the Carneddau range of mountains in Snowdonia. The Passport says the name is thought to refer to the shoals of fish that once lived here, and that early maps call it Llynyga. A small number of Arctic char are thought to exist in the lake after being transferred from Llyn Peris, and it is one of the few lakes in Wales with its own natural brown trout. The Afon Porth-llwyd flows from it.
