About Dolgarrog Fishing Club, Llyn Melynllyn
Llyn Melynllyn, the Yellow Lake, is on the edge of the Carneddau range of mountains in Snowdonia. It lies at a height of just over 2000 feet (610m) and has an area of some 18ยฝ acres.
The lake holds brown trout. The Passport says most of the fish are small, up to ยฝlb, but some larger fish up to 2lb can be caught. Traditional flies work best, and seasonal patterns fished just below the surface can produce excellent sport in the right conditions. The lake is in a mountainous region and the weather can change rapidly, so if you are fishing alone make sure someone knows where you are.
It is bank fishing only. All methods are allowed other than maggot or groundbait, the bag limit is 2 fish, there is no night fishing or overnight camping, and dogs are not allowed. It is booked through the Fishing Passport.
