About Llyn yr Oerfa
Llyn yr Oerfa translates as the cold place, and the Passport warns you of it. The lake is trickle stocked with brown trout throughout the year, and there are some prize specimens of 5lbs and more if you can catch one. Parking is available, getting to the lake is relatively easy and there is firm footing on one bank. Elsewhere there are boggy stretches where care is needed.
Fly fishing, spinning and earthworm fishing are allowed. Brown trout must be returned. A day ticket here is valid for all other Aberystwyth Angling Association waters on that date. It is booked through the Fishing Passport.
