About Pant-yr-Eos Reservoir
Pant-yr-Eos Reservoir at Risca is a fly fishing reservoir run by Islwyn and District Anglers, and the club describes it as home to both rainbow and brown trout. Its dam wall has had structural work, and the club’s page says the water is open again. The banks are steep and the water deep, so no wading is allowed.
Fishing is fly only, from the bank, with a landing net compulsory and no boats. The club’s rules do not allow fishing before 7am. All brown trout are returned. The club’s 2026 day ticket is £22 for two fish: catch and release is allowed until the second fish is killed, then fishing stops, and any fish kept must be over 12 inches. Annual members take up to three fish. The club’s membership page gives the season as 1 March to 31 December. Tickets are sold on the club’s website or at Green’s Fishing Tackle in Pontllanfraith. The position shown is approximate.
