About Oxenford Lake and Park Lake, Peper Harow
Peper Harow Park Fly Fishers have two lakes at Oxenford Farm near Elstead, Oxenford Lake and Park Lake. They were originally the carp ponds of the Cistercian monks who founded Waverley Abbey in 1128, and the club stocks them with rainbow trout.
Fishing is fly only, with one fly at a time, and fishing from boats or canoes is not permitted. Rainbow trout landed from the lakes may be kept or, if unharmed and not unduly stressed, released on barbless hooks. There is a limit on the number of fish taken per day and per week. No dogs are allowed because of cattle.
The water is for members of the club only. The position shown is approximate and marks Peper Harow Park, not the lakes themselves.
