About the River Witham

The River Witham rises on high ground near South Witham in Lincolnshire and flows north through Colsterworth and Grantham. It turns west at Barkston, goes through Marston and Long Bennington, and for about three miles near Barnby in the Willows it marks the border with Nottinghamshire. It then passes Beckingham and North Hykeham, takes in the River Brant, and reaches Lincoln. From Lincoln it runs south east to Boston and the Haven, an arm of the Wash.
