About Honddu Lower Stanton
Lower Stanton is a mile of small river on the Honddu, a few miles downstream of Lower Henllan, with wild brown trout and occasional grayling. Midway along the beat is a fish farm, so you may now and then find yourself connected to an escaped rainbow trout. The short stretch from the trout farm outlet upstream to the weir is not part of the beat. The Passport suggests a rod of 7 to 8 feet rated 2 to 4 weight.
It is fly fishing only, all species are catch and release, and dogs are not allowed. It is a Wild Stream beat: it is booked through the Fishing Passport, or fished on a Wild Stream Season Permit.
