About Seiont, Gwyrfai and Llyfni Fishing Society, Llyn Padarn

Llyn Padarn is a glacially formed lake in Snowdonia, an example of a moraine dammed lake, and one of the largest natural lakes in Wales. The Passport gives its length as about 2 miles (3.2km), its area as about 240 acres and its greatest depth as 94 feet (29m). Brown trout are the resident species, and the Torgoch (Arctic char) normally lie in the deeper water; the Passport says a boat is needed to fish for char and to contact the Cwellyn Arms.
