About Newnham Farm
Newnham Farm is a 2 mile (3.2 km) stretch of single, left bank fishing on the middle and lower River Teme in Worcestershire. It is a mixed fishery. Game anglers can fish for salmon, trout and grayling, and coarse anglers have barbel and chub as the main quarry, with good numbers of dace too. The best of the fly fishing is in the upstream half, where the river is quicker, although there are faster sections further down worth exploring. The best of the coarse fishing is in the middle and lower sections.
In dry conditions cars can drive right up to the bank, and 4x4s or vehicles with good clearance can drive along much of the beat. The banks are quite overgrown in late spring and summer, so getting to the river can be difficult. The middle and lower Teme sits deep in its channel, with steep banks and the river some 20 feet below, so you will not be able to fish the whole length. There are places to get down to the water, and the owner is improving them. The Passport says it is not a fishery for anglers with limited mobility. Where wading is possible it is relatively easy over gravel and bedrock, with some steep drop offs.
The coarse season runs from 16 June to 14 March and the trout season from 18 March to 7 October. Outside the coarse season it is fly fishing only. It is booked through the Fishing Passport.
