About River Tees, Blackwell, County Durham bank
These are the Blackwell Waters, which Darlington Anglers Club calls the most popular stretch of its water: one and a half miles of the County Durham (left) bank of the River Tees between Blackwell Road Bridge and Blackwell Pumping Station. The club lists wild brown trout, grayling, dace, chub, barbel, pike and the occasional salmon and sea trout. There are bankside footpaths around Blackwell Holm, past Stapleton Corner and down past High Linhams house to the pumping station, and a dedicated car park at Blackwell Allotments off the A66.
Members fish it on their membership, and visitors can book a river day ticket on Clubmate. The club fishes catch and release only. The club publishes the ends of the stretch and a printout of the water, so the position shown is approximate.
