About High Coniscliffe

High Coniscliffe is just over a mile and a half of single left bank on the Tees between High Coniscliffe and Merrybent, part of what the Passport calls the Darlington Anglers waters. It describes outstanding fishing for brown trout, grayling, chub and salmon, with exceptional fly water for free rising fish, a mix of deep holding pools and gravelly runs, and few trees to disturb your back cast. The water is home to the Grayling Society Area 11. During a spate there is also a chance of a salmon, with the main runs between mid-August and October, and for coarse anglers the page calls the stretch magnificent for chub.
