About River Tees, Manfield and Cleasby, south bank

These are Darlington Anglers Club’s Manfield and Cleasby waters: two miles of the southern (right) bank of the River Tees between the top end of Manfield Scar and Cleasby Deeps, above the A1(M) road bridge. The club calls it perhaps the least fished part of its water, with difficult going in parts, lots of overhanging trees, and superb deep holes and fast runs. It lists wild brown trout, grayling, dace, chub and barbel, with the occasional salmon and sea trout. The way in is by Boathouse Lane from the western end of Cleasby village green to Low Coniscliffe ford, with a parking area at the river end of the lane.
