About River Prysor, Beat 2
The Afon Prysor rises towards Arenig in Llyn Cwm Prysor and flows west towards Llyn Trawsfynydd. It is a small river with nice pools and glides, holding brown trout up to a pound and a half on the beat page and a good head of trout up to 12oz on the Passportโs river page, with an occasional rainbow trout that has come up from the lake. Casting can be a challenge because trees overhang the river, particularly on the lower part, and wading is not necessary. The Passport says the trout are not picky: general small patterns will catch, with a parachute Adams, a Klinkhammer or a small beetle pattern suggested, and fishing downstream with wet flies can be very productive in some of the wider riffles.
Beat 2 is just under 1ยฝ miles (2.25km) of double bank fishing. Any legal method is allowed and one trout may be taken per rod. The beat operates a wash-off policy. Dogs are not allowed. There is a tackle shop with a small cafรฉ on the shore of Trawsfynydd Lake, which the Passport suggests for the start or end of a day. It is booked through the Fishing Passport.
