About the River Alyn

The River Alyn, Afon Alun in Welsh, is a river in north east Wales and a tributary of the Dee, about 30 miles from source to confluence. It rises in the Clwydian hills south of Llandegla and flows north past Llanarmon yn Iâl and Loggerheads, where it runs through a limestone gorge. In parts the bed is dry for much of the year, as the water goes underground.
