About the River Dwyryd

The River Dwyryd, Afon Dwyryd in Welsh, flows mainly west in Gwynedd and drains into Tremadog Bay south of Porthmadog. It rises in the hills north of Ffestiniog. Water from Moelwyn Mawr feeds Llyn Ystradau, whose outflow is the source of the Afon Goedol, and at Rhyd-y-Sarn the Goedol meets the Afon Teigl. From there the river is the Dwyryd. The Afon Cynfal joins below Pont Dolymoch, after which the river crosses the Vale of Ffestiniog.
